Costume Competition

I've seen a few pirate outfits around, but I wonder if we could do anything else in terms of costume creation. I've seen some great hats at the skirmish vendors and the like that could be used to make some great costumes. We could have a bit of a catwalk and get some people judging the best fancy dress costume!

Looking for a social kin

Hi all, I've recently returned from a few months off due to RL changes and a lack of broadband, and found myself kinless. My time in LOTRO has always been a sightseeing adventure with a bit of questing thrown in. This passes as a vague explanation as to why my highest level character Connheath is just approaching lvl 35 after 2 yrs! He does make good pies though when supplied with produce from my farming Elf, Tammuz.

So I'm looking for a kinship for social reasons mainly with a bit of work on Book quests etc and whatever Middle Earth throws at me. I'm 41 and married with too many Hobbits for our mediocre hole so game time isnt what it was, but I'm online a few days a week after 9pm.

The Jesters sound like a kin I could enjoy playing with so I would be grateful if you could consider my application.

Group Nights

Ladies and Gentlemen!

it appears that a fair few of us are in need of group questing. for example Volume 2 bits, Volume 2 in general and other associated items.

So while currently in game (on follow to lily ) Had the idea of if we could see if we could do a bit of a regular "group helping night". basically a night where there's a fair few of us on to help doing group quests etc.

Our next great kinship and server event is a great horse race! Although this is an event for the whole server it would be great to have an awesome Jester turnout, so make sure you pop the date in your calendars. Also, if you would like to make a donation to the prize fund (whether you are competing or not) please mail it over to me and I'll add it to the pot.

See below for the full information that I'm about to post to the Codemasters forum to invite the server to our event!

The Jesters of Middle Earth would like to invite you to The Great Evernight Horse Race on Saturday the 14^th of August, starting at 7pm BST (UK time) from Michel Delving to the very top of Echad Mirobel in Eregion, with some waypoints in between. This great escapade features a grand prize worth more than 150g!!! And the prize pot is still growing!

In order to participate in this epic and sure to be hysterical event simply make a donation to the cause of as much copper, silver or gold as you can afford. All proceeds raised will go toward the (already incredibly valuable) prize fund, so be generous! Send an in game mail to Waterlily from the toon that you wish to race with along with your donation to be entered into the contest. (Yes we could do a set entrance fee, but we want everyone on the server, no matter how rich or poor, to be able to enter).

Alternatively meet us at the Michel Delving stable master to register for entry at 6.30pm on Saturday the 14^th. Please note that the race will be starting at 7pm, so any entries received after this point will not be valid!

Now for the bit you’ve all been waiting for... The prizes!

First place – Symbol of Celebrimbor (worth more than 150g!!!!!) + 25g

Second place – 35g

Third place – 25g

All donations received will be added to the three prize pots accordingly, making this a staggeringly good opportunity!

Check out the post below for the rules and the waypoints of the competition (ensure you understand all the rules to be eligible to win the grand prize). We hope to see as many people there as possible so please feel free to advertise this to your own kinships / friend lists!

Hello all, I am new here and am returning to Lotro after a much too long break. I had heard about the Jesters in the online world and so I decided to take a look at the website and see if Jesters is a Kin i would like to become a part of. I am definately impressed, this kin is definately one I'd love to be a part of as it seems so casual but yet it seems closely bonded. So, if someone could please contact me here or meet me somewhere in the game world (i'll most likely be somewhere in Ered Luin) then i'd love to officially become a part of this kin (: (that is of course if you will have me)

Not sure if everyone follows the Codies forums so I thought I'd post this here. There's an Evernight lottery being organised at the moment, for a 500s entry fee you stand to win a share of the prize pot (either 50%, 30% or 20%). At the time of writing the pot is at a sizeable 18g so it's worth a shot! You can't pick the same number as anyone else, so check out the post on the Codemasters forum for the numbers that are available. If you can't afford the 500s post here and we could arrange for a few of us to enter together and share the winnings.

Not gonna list it all, loooooooads here but I'll list some highlights for me...
(bear in mind 100 points in store is roughly $1 atm, and subbers/lifers accrue 500 points per month)

- you can save your points and buy future expansions with them (wahey!) looks like they'll be ~1500 points

- shared wardrobe space :D seems to be 5 lots of 10 slots

- "sea turtle backpack" cosmetic? teenage mutant ninja turtle burglar FTW

- scrolls that accelerate annoying slayer deeds for a period of time

- new emotes... /drunk /feather /spin /sneeze /golf (not joking, several of them, new hobby?)

and... best above all else... FINALLY I get a proper /tickle emote :P

Jesters Skirmish Sparring

You may or may not have noticed that in the housing instances it is possible to summon your skirmish soldier to your side. Having cunningly spotted this we've decided to set our soldiers against one another in a battle to the death on Wed the 21st of July at 8pm! It's sure to be great fun, and once we're bored we can entertain ourselves with keg racing, jumping off tall things, skirmishes, questing or anything that takes our fancy!

If you don't have a skirmish captain (because you're too low level or just haven't had the opportunity to partake) come along anyway as it'll definitely be a laugh, and we may even set you against someone's soldier!

Have had a few BSODs recently and yesterday my PC gave up and went into a coma.

Suspected memory problems and since I have 4Gb of RAM installed (4x1Gb modules) decided to pull a pair of modules and see if PC would start, luckily that did the trick and PC woke from it's coma.

Have also been playing TigerWoods PGA TOUR ONLINE so wont be spending as much time in LotRO, will be dropping by now and again though.

As one of the three founders of the Jesters it's with sadness that I see the kinship go... The name 'The Jesters' was always meant to be a symbol of our fun, and our desire not to take the game too seriously; to be a kinship that existed for fun, not for raiding. A kinship that accepted anyone of any level, with the aim of having a laugh together. It seems a shame to throw away a name that was featured in a national magazine as one of the most fun kinships in Middle Earth... But what do I know?

I know that I'm not around much these days, though I was hoping to start to rectify that issue, and I understand that with diminishing numbers partaking in quests was becoming more and more difficult, however I don't think I will be joining 'The Lost Alliance'. I'll stick with a Jester title for as long as it's going, and if you choose to disband it altogether let me know, and I will begin anew.

Good luck to all. I've enjoyed my time here (three years?) and I am sorry to see things draw to a close...

All the best in The Lost Alliance; I hope you all find your way there.

Time to say goodbye

Well folks in typical Raggy fashion:....

It's time for me to call it a day from regular Lotro gaming, to be honest this day has been coming for a very long time now as my life has changed so dramatically since Isabella has been born.

Initially I kept playing Lotro almost daily to help the hardcore keep the kin going, then when Chug needed to devote more time to RL I became leader and spent most of my online time trying to keep the old girl going. During which I had to make some difficult choices (especially as MoM drove away so many of our best, brightest & craziest Jesters) to stop a mass exodus and the death of the kinship.

I stand by all the choices I made as, at the time, they were in the best interest of keeping JoME going as we lost too many casual gamers with MoM.

However I do deeply regret some of the fallout of those choices and for that, Rowie and Chug I openly and sincerely apologise to you both.

Now Lily is back as the 7th (and 2nd :S) leader with Chug holding her hem, I feel confident the kin is once again in safe hands and I can leave regular gaming to those with more time.

Thank you all for everything over the past 2.5 years I have been a Jesters regular and good luck in rebuilding this once amazing ship of state
