The King is dead... Long live the King!

As most of you are aware we had our first ever Jesters meet up last night and much funa nd merriment was had by all.

Those of you that didn't go however not only missed out on all the fun (and I'm sure someone will be posting up all the details of that later) but you also missed out on a big announcement.

I decided that with the meet up happening and Moria coming out it was a fine and fitting time to annoucne I was stepping down from leading the kin.

It's been a fantastic time since we started the kin all those many many months ago, I remember the fantastic events, that very first conga that appeared in the national press, our fantastic music competition, the horse race, hide and seeks, chicken runs and many many more. Even the serious stuff we did, how we've grown from the first Great Barrows run being a damn scary and serious occasion for us, to being able to anihalate the Balrog now.

There's a lot to be proud of, but for me the best thing I can leave behind for the new boss, is a fantastic group of players, a unique and un-matched atmosphere and a fantastic group of people to lead the kin, to whom I have to offer a great load of thanks, as the kin has grown these people have really stepped up to the plate and helped out making the Jesters what they are.

Now I don't want you all to worry and think the Chugg is leaving, I'm merely taking a step back. I'll still very much be involved as a senior officer, shall still be playing (hopefully a little bit more soon lol) and shall still be there to be insulted, offer innapropriate conversation and all the useless stuff I always done.

As much as my ego wants to keep talking about me, I feel I should announce who (after careful deliberation) I have chosen to take over my mantle:

I would like to introduce your new leader Aragnuss.

This guys gonna do a great job and I wish him all the best.

Thank you so much mate for all the time and effort you have put into making this kinship. As I have already said you should feel proud to own that kinship founder title. I remember all the Jesters events especially the music competition where I was a guest judge and had my first proper contact with you and lily.

Although you will still be a senior officer I am sure everyone will agree we feel a serious degree of loss in you stepping down. You where a fair but firm leader and I hope I can live up to the high standards you have laid down.

Finally thank you for the faith you have shown in me to carry on your legacy.

Raggy - Apparently now king of the Jesters?!?!......help!!

    Chuggs

Sorry to see you step down as Leader. I know I have only been around for a few months in Jesters but I can honestly say you have built (together with the rest of the officers and founders) a kin to be proud of. Jesters are a great bunch of people that have made me welcome in so many ways. Good to hear you will still be playing as well and hopefully our paths will cross more often in the future.

    Raggy

Gratz on the promotion, I am sure (with my limited time in Jesters) you will be a great leader. All new Kings, Leaders, Presidents etc. make promises for their time in office, any hints on your changes, if any, more naked conga's maybe?  6 man raids into the rift when we are lvl 60?  free bar at the next jesters meet????

You've been a fantastic leader Chug, and the kin is what it is through your hard work! I'm sorry to see you step down, but can understand why, and I'm sure Raggy will do a fantastic job!

And to Raggy, congrats - as I said, I'm sure you'll do a fantastic job!

First I'd like to thank you Chugg, you have been a great leader, you shaped the kin into what it is today, a great kinship that everyone is proud to be in.

I'm really sorry to see you step down, it has been such great fun, I know I'll still see you around but as raggy said, your leadership will be greatly missed.

Raggy I know you will do an amazing job being leader, and grats on the promotion!

That confused me for a good few seconds... I thought I'd managed to scroll back up to the top of the post or something! Hehe.

I think we can all be proud of what the Jesters has developed into from its humble beginnings as a small seed in the minds of Chug, Lari and myself. I've never met a nicer group of people in an online community, this was really solidified after meeting a lot of you the other night. Chug's done a great job leading this kinship, and I'm sure I speak for us all when I say I'm sorry to see our favourite star of channel 5 'documentaries' stepping down. Raggy, I'm sure you'll do a great job taking on the baton after myself and Chug and I'm excited to see what the future will bring as we step forward into the Mines of Moria and beyond. Smile

Re: The King is dead... Long live the King!

in the olden days, esp in northen cultures i believe the old king was put on a funeral pyre and burned. Is raggys 1st major task as leader to organise this? is he up to the task of trying to get chugglebut to the top of the pyre or will the guffbringer have one last trick to play?

On a slightly more serious note, a v big congratulations to raggy for being demoted to kin leader, I have every confidence the kin will continue to be a major player on the evernight server and keep going from strength to strength (or was it rock to hard place?).

Anyway, I know chug will be helping us all out as often as possible, and look forward to grouping with him for a long time to come.
