SIEGE OF MIRKWOOD LAUNCH ON DECEMBER 1ST

Iam looking about and I see that they put a date for the SoM release and I got excited.

I also saw that in addition to the £20 digital download its in in dollars so iam guessing they have this 'Adventurer’s Pack' which is another £20 and u get the shared valut early and a grey nible goat and The Harbringer’s Cloak http://community.codemasters.com/forum/showthread.php?t=382192

also i ready 2 more character slots if u are full.

and i hope a offer on the lifesub.

and then I thought to myself... *sigh* they just want more money out of me, £20 for the game which i cant have a phisical copy of and I now have to pay £20 for the 'extras'.

Its all a ripe off... but cause iam going to get everything *sigh*

ow edit, just saw if u have a lifesub and u preorder the Adventurer’s Pack u get the game free. Iam sure they will apply it to the EU release.

OMG!!1! Get your hands off my LOOT!!1!

Re: SIEGE OF MIRKWOOD LAUNCH ON DECEMBER 1ST

Not quite El, they've not said anything about EU prices yet so... its at $20 at the moment.

BUT assuming they do the same as the yanks, you won't have to pay twice. Actually most people won't have to pay at all...

If you pay a 3, 6, 12 month subscription then you get Mirkwood FOR FREE!! and can pay $20 for the extra fluff pack if you want.
If you pay monthly then you should upgrade to 3/6/12 months else you will have to pay for the game expansion.
If you have a lifetime sub then you just pay once and get both the expansion and the fluff for $20.

There was something about another offer on lifetime subs also, but I don't remember the price... prally just the usual offer.

Sounds an utter rip off, as per usual I expect $20 to read £20.And multi month customers get it free but lifers have to pay, what a rip

Trust me guys - be thankful it's DLC, as a massive console gamer and a big Street Fighter and Resident Evil fan, the current news from the TGS show in Japan is that to play added content I've got to buy the whole game again, which totally sucks.

Pfft, just can't please some folks it seems...

Moria was $20-25 iirc, and we got it for £15 here. So no, the straight dollars to pounds conversion don't always apply. And providing you don't care for the fluff the majority will get it for free anyhow.

Got absolutely no sympathy for the lifers either, except people who might've upgraded recently. Most of ya have been playing the game for free nearly at year now at least, funded for by the rest of us who plain can't afford a large outlay. SoM amounts to two months worth of my sub, so if you've had more than two months free from your lifer sub then... tough frankly. Lifetime sub is just that, not getting all and sundry free along the way.

Anyway, not gonna bother posting or commenting on expansion news anymore... cos all it seems is whines in reply. Games not perfect, it never has been. But I still find enjoyment in it. Thats enough for me.

Re: SIEGE OF MIRKWOOD LAUNCH ON DECEMBER 1ST

I just aint finding much excitement in game at all at the mo, yes the new area could be exciting etc. Just not overly thrilled by the whole thing, maybe in time and once i get into the area it'll all change. Yes at first was a bit peeved about the whole having to pay twice to get all the extra fluff, when i cant afford the initial outlay for the multiple months, but hey ho I'll just have to be without the extra bits n bobs, aint gonna stop me from getting the expansion though, least to see what its gonna be like, I'll just not haves a pwetty cloak to wear when doing it Stick out tongue

Hopefully the soon to be extended breaks are gonna change my view on the game and may bring some of the 'excitement' and 'enthusiasm' back for me, but we shall see.

I've actually rediscovered my interest in LotRO recently, extended breaks definitely do help with that, that and not rushing to complete everything new I think. Dave and I still haven't reached Moria but we're loving the journey there, made some new friends along the way as well that are happily pottering about the level 50 mark, enjoying their journey up the levels. Smile

At the moment I can't wait for Mirkwood! Though that might be because I'm currently re-reading the books and was just reading about Dol Guldor, etc, and all the cool places that I'm looking forward to exploring. I think that, no matter how long I leave the game for, I will always come back, just because I love the whole setting so much that I can't wait to explore it all. Big Smile So yeah, I might have to pay because of my lifetime sub but that really doesn't bother me, I'm just excited to explore whole new areas of a story that I've loved since I was 10.

Oh man, seen a few of the Downfall videos for various different things but this is undoubtably one of the best.

Redubbing this scene is one of the greatest things people have done on the intraweb in ages.

And *doh* didn't realise there were a few videos on Youtube showing footage from SoM.

Re: SIEGE OF MIRKWOOD LAUNCH ON DECEMBER 1ST

    Legendary Item system changes

    Turbine:

    Scrolls of Empowerment

These scrolls allow the player to upgrade the Tier of any Legacy of their choice on one of their Legendary Items. There are no limits to the use of these scrolls other than availability and having a Legacy available to be upgraded.

Some happy Big Smile still gonna have to trash my current lot though ....
