Jesters of Middle Earth

Our next great kinship and server event is a great horse race! Although this is an event for the whole server it would be great to have an awesome Jester turnout, so make sure you pop the date in your calendars. Also, if you would like to make a donation to the prize fund (whether you are competing or not) please mail it over to me and I'll add it to the pot.

The Jesters of Middle Earth would like to invite you to The Great Evernight Horse Race on Saturday the 14^th of August, starting at 7pm BST (UK time) from Michel Delving to the very top of Echad Mirobel in Eregion, with some waypoints in between. This great escapade features a grand prize worth more than 150g!!! And the prize pot is still growing!

In order to participate in this epic and sure to be hysterical event simply make a donation to the cause of as much copper, silver or gold as you can afford. All proceeds raised will go toward the (already incredibly valuable) prize fund, so be generous! Send an in game mail to Waterlily from the toon that you wish to race with along with your donation to be entered into the contest. (Yes we could do a set entrance fee, but we want everyone on the server, no matter how rich or poor, to be able to enter).

Alternatively meet us at the Michel Delving stable master to register for entry at 6.30pm on Saturday the 14^th. Please note that the race will be starting at 7pm, so any entries received after this point will not be valid!

Now for the bit you’ve all been waiting for... The prizes!

First place – Symbol of Celebrimbor (worth more than 150g!!!!!) + 25g

Second place – 35g

Third place – 25g

All donations received will be added to the three prize pots accordingly, making this a staggeringly good opportunity!

Check out the post below for the rules and the waypoints of the competition (ensure you understand all the rules to be eligible to win the grand prize). We hope to see as many people there as possible so please feel free to advertise this to your own kinships / friend lists!

Rules and Waypoints

The rules of The Great Evernight Horse Race are simple:

-       No porting or mapping

-       No class skills that increase the speed of your toon

-       No swift stable travel (though normal stable travel is permitted)

-       Any other means of transportation that we haven't considered (untimely death, etc.) are permitted!

Anyone to be found porting or using swift travel will immediately be removed from the competition, with no refund of entry donation!

To enforce said simple rules, all entrants to the competition will be grouped with a member of the Jesters of Middle Earth who will be watching their maps closely to observe your progress.

The race will commence from the stable master by Michel Delving in the Shire, and will finish at the top of Echad Mirobel in Eregion (coordinates 52.4S, 16.7W). However, to qualify for one of the top three positions you must pass via four checkpoints, pausing to /slap emote a member of the Jesters of Middle Earth who will be waiting at the appointed location.

The waypoints need not be reached in any particular order, but you must have used the /slap emote on each of the four Jesters to count as a potential winner of the race.

To give you a heads up, here are the locations of the four chosen waypoints:

-       Longo Burrow's Farm in the Shire (33.0S, 70.3W)

-       By the bonfire in Trestlebridge in the North Downs (17.8S, 53.9W)

-       Elrond's Stables in Rivendell (29.1S, 6.7W)

-       The rez circle in Echad Eregion in Eregion (47.2S, 12.7W)

There will also be a member of the Jesters of Middle Earth waiting at Mirobel; the first person to /slap this Jester (that has already emoted to the four waypoint Jesters) will be declared the winner and will be presented with the frankly quite epic first place prize! Likewise, the second and third place prizes will be doled out to the second and third people to /slap emote the Jester at the finishing point.

Suggest you drop the cash prize with the symbol and add it to the runners up prizes, since the symbol alone is worth around 150G.

Someone pointed out on the codies site that /slap doens't work when mounted, just tested and they're right. So I'm going to say /smoke instead. Still nice n humorous, but we have a specific emote to pick out in case other emotes are going on around us.

The symbol is but the weapon it makes might not be :) its a consolation prize incase the crafted item is pants!

The other prizes will be bolstered with donations etc, they are just min winnings at the moment.

Just wondering what the prize fund got up to so far? :) Is it worth having some surprise 4 & 5 'th place prizes if there is enough?

Prize fund is currently at 52g, 510s, 0c, with the majority allocated in the following way:

1st prize - Symbol of Celebrimbor + 10g

2nd prize - 25g

3rd prize - 15g

I'm expecting to collect a lot more money on the day so these prizes could still dramatically increase. There's also an unallocated 2g and 510s at the moment so if nothing else we could give 4th and 5th place 1g each.

Make that 53g, 510s, 0c.
