Jester Jape of a different kind

I've been thinking about this for a while, and finally have to courage to post this. What would you guys & gals say to a Jester Jape of a different kind, one that doesn't take place in Middle Earth?

How do we all feel about a real-life get together?

I'm thinking a Saturday night in Bristol (UK) around November time. Would anyone be interested? And please let me know if you're interested, but the place/time doesn't work out. I'm thinking Bristol, because it has an international airport and isn't as expensive as London. Yes, Gnomes are welcome too as are others we regularly group with.

What do you think? It would involve a donation of money, but don't know how much yet.

And I won't take you saying yes as a commitment to come. I just need to know how many might come to sort out if we need to rent a place and if so what size.

Re: Jester Jape of a different kind

I think its a great idea, unfortunaltey i wouldn't be able to attend, travel from the Isle of Man is quite costly, and then on top of that travel down to Bristol (or wherever) and then the money for a cheap B&B would all be a little to costly for me. I had a hard time convincing my better half that forking over £130 for a life time sub was a good idea.

That said, for all you Jesters on the mainland im sure the trainfare will be a short price to pay to see if some of the Dwarfs in our kin CAN actually handle their ale.

    I'd love to see photos!

Oh and PS if any of you ever find yourself on the Isle of Man for whatever reason let me know, we have a spare bedroom which your more than welcome to use (for the cost a pint of course!)

     Hum,

if we could gather a critical mass, it would be fun to meet up in bristol. I'm not sure about the prices and such yet, but I'll investigate it further. It shouldn't be all that costy. However, if any of you living near Bristol could investigate the prices on B&B it would make live much more easier :)

If I organise it, I'll make sure that's part of the info for everyone, but you will need to book youself. I'll also oranise info for taxi's, public transport, etc.

Yes Chug, you should as leader, but that won't stop us partying if you can't make it!

hmmmm Bristol, I *think* I can make that!!  Wink how great would that be, I'd LOVE to have you all over, as would Bristol. I can help with a venue if you need local info. I also have a spare room if anyone doesn't feel weird about staying with a person you've never met (and then there's the Badger and the cat Bella) Smile

November would be a fine idea too, early party season, so town should be quite lively and fun.

Let me know if you need some local help, and I'll direct you to someone capable Big Smile

In relation to the rest of the country it'll be quite warm. Bristol has it's own weather system, which can be utterly different in the centre to the weather out at the airport in the countryside south! The only bad weather we get in Bristol is rain, lots and lots of rain. So come with an umbrella and a jacket, and you'll be perfectly happy. Smile

Aww i wanna come too, ok.....

Charity Fund Raiser   -   Help a Needy Hunter

For Just £10 per person you can help a desperate hunter travel from the Isle of Man to Bristol to get a much needed Kidney Damaging Operation. The travel fare is all that is needed, the "medicine" will be purchased on arrival and taken in sufficiant quanties to ensure complete kidney saturation.

All joking aside though, i'll see what i can do, but we're talking at least £150 return and every penny between now and the end of August is going on this wedding of mine, after that i'll attempt to raise the funds.

Just thought, he eh, ooh this is good, I could book a hotel room for me and the (then) wife and say nowt about the Jester piss up, tell here its just a little break for us both, suggest a couple of drinks and "accidentally" bump into you all Angel

Of course this would mean she would be with me but she wouldnt know until its too late Mwuuhahahahhahahhaaaaaaaa <-- Evil laugh

Any partners would be more than welcome, but they will need to pay too I'm afraid. Well, in the current plan anyway.
